TAFUNGA BONJISI.

Tafunga was born on the 6th of April 1982 in Ruwa which is north east of Harare. He went to Thorncroft park Primary School in Ruwa and Tafara High 1 which is north east of Harare. Tafunga has three brothers and two sisters. His brothers Lameck, Witness and Lovemore are all well known, successful sculptors. Having had worked with Great Artists such as Nicholas Mukomberanwa. Tafunga began sculpting in the year 2000 when he completed high school. In 2000 Tafunga decided to go and work at Ruwa Gallery, were his brothers had Exhibitions. He remained there for six months where he gained experience technique and developed his own style. Lameck, Tafungas elder brother influenced him to sculpt, he taught and encouraged Tafunga to be creative and original. Tafunga used to assist Lameck with the finishing touches of his works by washing, sanding and polishing the pieces. Tafunga has his own unique style. As he is a new up and coming artist he has great enthusiasm and his work has already proven to be a success.
